The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter provides a tow to the fuel ship to prepare her for departure.
It was necessary to tow the tanker, because her propellers would have been damaged by the floating ice
if she attempted to move backward away from the pier. Once her bow was pointed toward the channel, she
began her journey home at approximately 7:00 PM, January 19, 1998.
