Mount Terra Nova, Ross Island, Antarctica is the mountain in the distance. The people in the foreground are participants in our Snowcraft Survival Training Program. Anyone going to remote facilities or science camps is required to complete this two-day course. Some of the skills taught are, crevasse recognition, crossing, and extraction... should you be unlucky enough to fall in one. Snow shelter construction is also covered and once you've built your "home", you're required to spend the night inside it.
